2010 Division III College Championships

The Division III College Ultimate Championships are a brought to you by the Ultimate Players Association. The goal of this event is to provide national level competition for teams from small colleges and universities (fewer than 7500 students). 2010 marks the first year that the UPA has held this event.

The UPA would like to congratulate all the attending teams and welcome players, volunteers, and fans to Appleton. Find out all there is to know about the tournament, and if you can’t make it out to the event, keep up with the action through this site.

News and Announcements

Inaugural UPA Division III Champions

A hot, blustery day was the setting for the crowning of the first two UPA Division III College Champions. In the Women's Division, Pacific Lutheran defeated Swarthmore 11-8, while in the Open Division, Carleton outlasted Whitman 11-9. John Brown University and Missouri S&T won the team spirit awards in the Women's and Open divisions, respectively. Teams from throughout the country competed hard and had a great time at this first UPA national event for small colleges and universities. Congratulations to all the qualifying teams on their successful seasons. Thanks to the local organizers in Appleton and everyone who helped make this a great experience for the players and fans.

Day One Sets Stage for Championship Sunday

Saturday's pool play and crossover rounds saw most of the top seeded teams riding a successful Saturday into Sunday's quarterfinals. However, joining them there are some surprise teams who broke seed and are still alive and gunning the inaugural UPA Division III championship. Seedings and Schedule!

The seedings and schedule have been announced for the 2010 UPA Division III College Championships. Carleton GOP comes in as the top seed in the Open Division, but will have its work cut out with a field of 15 other teams vying for the championship. In the Women's Division, Stonehill brings an impressive 17-7 record to the tournament and will look to hold off an impressive field of challengers. Teams will be competing for the first UPA Division III College Championship this coming weekend. Follow all the action here on the tournament website.

VC Ultimate Awarded Official Merchandiser Contract

VC Ultimate has been awarded the official merchandiser contract for the 2010 UPA Division III College Championships. The UPA and VC Ultimate are excited to be working together again to continue to promote the sport and provide more new and exciting playing opportunities. Official tournament gear will be available during and following the event through www.vcultimate.com.
